A charming 1920s hair receiver crafted from early plastic and decorated with a beautiful Art Deco pattern.
Hair receivers were once a common dressing-table accessory, used to collect loose hair from brushes and combs. The saved hair could then be rolled into small “hair puffs” or pads to add volume and shape beneath fashionable hairstyles.
Today, this piece works beautifully as a decorative object in its own right. I especially like repurposing it as a tissue holder, trinket box, or small vanity container — a lovely example of giving an antique object a new life while preserving its original story.
